Danny Röhl: Rangers head coach insists 'full focus' is on Ibrox club and rebuild amid Bundesliga links

Danny Röhl insists his "full focus" is on Rangers and "winning titles in the future" amid speculation linking him with a move to the Bundesliga.

The Ibrox head coach, who took charge in October, is reportedly a target for Wolfsburg to replace veteran boss Dieter Hecking.

After guiding Rangers back into the Scottish Premiership title race, defeat to Hearts on Monday means they are all but certain to end another season without a trophy.

Ahead of Sunday's Old Firm clash with Celtic, live on Your Site, the 37-year-old said: "My full focus is on Rangers.

"There are a lot of rumours. I look back last year with how many clubs I was linked, I could get maybe 20 jobs in the newspaper.

"Even the last couple of days our conversations with the club goes just in one direction, how we can win titles with the club in the future."

Back-to-back Premiership defeats has increased the pressure on the German, who has spoken previously about his ambition to work in the top-flight in his homeland.

Asked if he still be in charge at Ibrox next season, Röhl added: "From my side, of course, 100 per cent. I'm convinced. I chose this club for the reason to bring it back to success and win titles.

"In the last 15 years we didn't win what we should do and I think this is a big part of what we have to change.

"In the last six months, we improved the standards higher and higher. In the last seven days we couldn't and I think this is a big part in our future.

"We move now forward and it gives me, especially also for the new season, a big, big motivation to be better every day, increase the standards and make the step forward what we want."

Rangers must win at Celtic Park on Sunday to keep their hopes of finishing second alive to secure a place in Champions League qualifying.

His last visit to Parkhead ended with a 3-1 victory against a Hoops team managed by ex-boss Wilfried Nancy.

"It's a special game for us," he added.

"Nobody needs extra motivation to go in this game. We want to make our supporters and fans proud and that means we have to deliver on Sunday.

"The last game there is a good picture of our last couple of weeks.

"In the first half, we started well but then the opponent was better and scored.

"We adjusted things at half-time and had a plan B. We then turned it to 3-1.

"We showed we can do that. That's when we really felt the belief that even when things don't go right in a game we can turn them in the right direction."
